Happy Birthday Ashton!

My baby is 1! Can't believe the year went by so fast, it seems like just the other day I had a new baby. Now he is running! He can climb up and down the stairs, off the couch, lift the toilet seat up and put his sister's dress up shoes in and all sorts of other mischief!! He can clap and can say cracker and when you tell him to say ma ma he YELLS da da:) He gives the best kisses but hasn't figured out how to close his mouth...He is so happy all the time and LOVES to play with Gentri, they chase each other and giggle till they can't breathe. He is such a blessing and I love him so much!

Gentri is a knock out! (almost)

Well the other night we were out on the deck and Gentri was standing on the stairs and turned around to go back up, but was too far to the side and started to fall while spinning (it was a very acrobatic move!). Uncle Kris caught her before she hit the ground and when he gave her to me, I thought it was one of those normal hurts. Then blood started literally pouring out of her mouth. So I took her inside to get it to stop bleeding and see if she needed stiches. I set her up on the counter and had about decided that while her lip was pretty bad, it didn't need stiches. All of a sudden, I knew I was going to pass out... I woke up to Andy slapping me in the face trying to wake me up! I said I was fine and he went to inspect Gentri again. He then said that her tooth was almost knocked out. So we loaded her up and went to Insta-care while Uncle Kris stayed with Ashton. She was so tough! She stopped crying as soon as we got in the truck and never cried again. Even when they put her tooth back in the socket (yuck! We thought Andy had better hold her so I didn't pass out again!) The poor little thing couldn't swallow because it hurt too bad, so she just had bloody drool coming out for a while:( The next morning was the same and she couldn't even eat her yogurt at first. Then she forgot and started to tell me something and realized it didn't hurt as bad as the night before. She was so excited, she said "I can talk!!" "I can eat some yogurt!" Everyday she has gotten better and her mouth looks pretty good, but she still can't eat too much besides yogurt and pudding for a while until her tooth firms up a bit more. We went to the dentist and he couldn't tell if it was starting to die or if it was just the clotted blood in the socket....I REALLY hope her tooth doesn't die! She is so cute about it and says she can't eat hamburgers because of her special teeth:)

Family Pictures

While we were in Salt Lake, we had my really good friend Adri take our pictures. She is so good at what she does and brought the cutest props, it was so fun! Her blog is adrifreemanphotography.blogspot.com if you want to take a look, she is awesome! Thanks Ade!

Gentri's fun at Grandma and Grandpa's

When my mom came down, she took Gentri back with her for a few days. Gentri got to go camping and fishing with them, she caught the biggest fish on her little princess pole and was sooooo excited! That's her yelling "I caught the biggest fish!"

Gettin ready for bed! She got to sleep with Grandma and Grandpa in their big bed.

Gentri and Michael, they are little buddies:) She had such a fun time at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and was so excited that Grandma Slack came out to get her with me. We had a really good visit and got to see alot of family. It was so nice, thanks for taking her she had a blast!

Going for a ride

This past week my mom had a conference for school, so we decided that we wanted to go for a ride while she was here. We called John and even though he was sick, he told us of course we could come down. Gentri had so much fun with Willow! Madison was so cute and led her around while Gentri rode, then showed her how to hold the lead rope and lead Jackson around. I think she liked leading more than riding:) Then we rode the "big horses" and had a good time. I hadn't been riding for a long time, I always loved to go with Grandpa. It brought back so many memories! Thanks for sharing your horses with us, we loved seeing you!

Happy 4th!

Wow! Where does the time go??? I didn't even get pictures on here when Ashton was born. Well for an update, Ashton is almost seven months old and crawling everywhere! He can also pull himself up, but is still pretty wobbly on his feet. He loves to crawl over and pull my tree down and make a mess of the DVD's:) He has also been growling a TON lately, so cute! Gentri will be three in October and can talk so well. She tells me the funniest stories and still makes me laugh sometimes with the way she puts sentences together. She is obsessed with getting married! She wears her hooded towel as a veil, puts on a crown, and carries around a flower. It is so cute, she says one day she will go to the temple in a carraige like Cinderella and get married:) She is so smart, I taught her a song to sing for Father's Day and she sang the whole song word for word all by herself. Andrew has been very busy! He just closed the two houses he was working on and is now working on a home to put in the Festival of Homes. He also moved into an office on Main Street and is very excited, I'm excited to decorate too! I have not been doing too much out of the ordinary, but I have been making an effort to be a better mom. To be more patient and make more time to play with them. It has been much better! They are so fun and I don't want to miss this time with them! I also made a strawberry rhubarb pie that was so yummy, I was so glad it turned out so well. I have found that I LOVE to bake, especially pies. I try to keep it at a minimum since I am trying to lose weight. I have lost eight pounds and need to lose some more! (pies do not help!!) Gentri is at my Mom and Dad's house for a few days, so she won't be here with us for the fireworks:( But we went to Taylorsville Dayzz last week so she got to see some fireworks then. I hope everyone has a great weekend and Happy Independence Day!!

Update and sledding!

A few things have happened in the last little while to our little family. First, Andrew left the company he was working for to start his own company. He is doing a build job right now with a few prospects on the way. We hope to continue to have more work! He is having soooo much fun, I have really enjoyed seeing him be so excited:) My parents and Sheila and her family came here for Thanksgiving so we didn't have to drive so far. It was really fun to have them here for a few days. We are trying (not too successfully) to wait paitently for our little boy to get here! We think we have everything ready for him to come, except for a name. We have one that we think we will use, but it's not set in stone.
It snowed about 6-8 inches yesterday and Andy couldn't wait to take Gentri sledding again. It was really cold so we didn't stay too long, but Gentri had alot of fun! As you can see from the next picture, she loves her mittens.
Cutest little girl ever! Isn't that what everyone thinks about their kids though?? Gentri is so much fun, she is talking so much now and she says the cutest things. Can't wait for another little addition to our family!!
